A farmer walks through his field in Quljeed Village near Borama, Somalia. World Food Day was on the October 16. The Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the UN calls for global action against hunger and highlights the importance of healthy diets for all. More than 3 billion people across the world cannot afford a healthy diet - that is more than 40% of the worlds population. Our current agri-food systems are profoundly impacting societies across the world, with farmers baring the burden of our digital society's demands from food trends. FAO are calling for governments to install systems which fosters sustainable production of affordable nutritious foods and promotes farmer participation. The climate crisis and COVID-19 have further exacerbated this issue, and it now can only be tackled with worldwide participation. Arete / Isak Amin / FAO
